Guinean Football Federation presidential race narrows to three candidates

The race for the presidency of the Guinean Football Federation (FGF) has officially begun following the deadline for candidate submissions on September 21, 2026. Three main lists have been registered to compete for the presidency and the Executive Committee for a four-year term.

The candidates include Dr. Ibrahima Kalil Kaba, president of Karfamoriah FC, whose list includes 13 members including three women; Mamadou Antonio Souaré, former president of the FGF and current board chairman of Horoya AC; and Mamadi Doumbouya, president of Union FC.

The electoral commission will now review and validate the submitted files. Once validated, candidates will enter a campaign period leading up to the elective general assembly, which is scheduled to take place on October 27, 2026. The election for the Executive Committee will be conducted via secret ballot.
