Guinean MMA federation seeks state support for African Championship
The Guinean Federation of Muay Thai, MMA and Related Disciplines is seeking administrative clarification and state support from the Ministry of Sports ahead of the GAMMA African Championship. The competition is scheduled to take place in Côte d’Ivoire from October 13 to 18.
Mohamed Lamine Simakan, a member of the federation’s technical bureau, stated that the organization has been active and internationally recognized since 2017. However, the federation is currently facing administrative uncertainty due to an ongoing process with the Ministry of Sports. This situation is complicated by a dispute with an unidentified NGO and the emergence of a new federation practicing the same disciplines.
The federation has approached the Ministry of Sports and the Olympic Committee to establish the legal responsibilities of the various entities involved. Despite these administrative hurdles, athletes are continuing their preparations for the upcoming international event.
