Guinean specialist doctors demand integration into public service

The Collective of Guinean Specialist and Specializing Doctors (COMEG) is calling on the Guinean government to integrate over 400 specialist doctors into the public service. For the past four years, hundreds of doctors have been seeking official recruitment to serve within the national health system.

During a press conference in Conakry, COMEG President Dr. Ousmane Coulibaly emphasized that the failure to utilize these specialists impacts the entire population's access to quality care. He urged authorities to move beyond promises and take concrete administrative actions, such as recruiting specialists based on their credentials.

In an effort to address the healthcare gap, the Collective has proposed a partnership with the Turkish healthcare entity Médical Parc. This collaboration aims to focus on the training of local specialist doctors and reduce the necessity for medical evacuations abroad by strengthening domestic medical expertise.
