Guinness Nigeria profit jumps 57% as Champion Breweries profit drops 34% in H1 2026

Guinness Nigeria Plc reported an unaudited profit after tax of N14.91 billion for the second quarter ended June 30, 2026, a 57.3% increase from the same period a year earlier. Revenue rose 20% to N142.27 billion and earnings per share improved to N6.81. The board approved an additional interim dividend of N7 per ordinary share, bringing the total interim dividend for shareholders to N9 per share.

Champion Breweries Plc disclosed its unaudited six‑month results to June 2026, showing profit before tax of N2.28 billion, down 34.1% year‑on‑year. Revenue surged 124% to N35.73 billion, but higher finance costs of N4.91 billion and rising operating expenses squeezed margins. Profit after tax was N2.65 billion, up 15.6%, while earnings per share fell 38% to 16 kobo. Both companies operate in Nigeria’s brewing sector.
