Guinness Nigeria reports profit growth and strengthened balance sheet
Guinness Nigeria Plc has reported a significant financial recovery for the first half of 2026, marking a transition toward a stronger growth phase. The company recorded revenue of approximately N265 billion, with profit after tax increasing by 53% to N25.3 billion.
To stabilize its financial position against Nigeria’s volatile macroeconomic environment and currency devaluation, the brewer has focused on strengthening its balance sheet. Net debt decreased from roughly N37 billion to N19 billion, while shareholders’ equity rose from N43.3 billion to N64.2 billion.
During this period, the company deployed nearly N20 billion in capital expenditure for manufacturing and infrastructure, while simultaneously returning approximately N20 billion to shareholders through dividends. Management is also working to mitigate foreign exchange risks by localizing the sourcing of raw materials and focusing on higher-margin, premium products.
