Guipúzcoa court maintains detention of man accused of abusing 14 minors

The Provincial Court of Guipúzcoa has upheld the provisional detention of a 22-year-old man accused of continuous sexual assault and abuse against 14 minors. The court dismissed an appeal from the defense that sought his release or less restrictive measures, citing a high flight risk due to the severity of the allegations and the potential prison sentence.

The investigation began in late June following a report from a minor regarding assaults occurring at a candy store in the Amara neighborhood of San Sebastián. The suspect, who managed the business, was arrested after the victim provided specific details regarding the modus operandi. Authorities and judicial officials are currently finalizing the investigation before the trial begins.
