Gujarat allocates Rs 692 crore for highway expansion in Kutch and Banaskantha

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has allocated Rs. 692 crore for major highway expansion and infrastructure projects in the Kutch and Banaskantha districts.

In Kutch, Rs. 363 crore will be used to widen three specific roads—Pandhro-Narayan Sarovar, Lakhpat-Narayan Sarovar, and Dayapar-Subhashpar-Pandhro—from 7 metres to 10 metres. These improvements are expected to facilitate easier access to pilgrimage sites like Narayan Sarovar and Koteshwar, potentially boosting regional tourism.

In the Banaskantha district of North Gujarat, Rs. 229 crore has been approved to convert the Shihori-Patan Road into a four-lane highway.

The infrastructure upgrades aim to improve connectivity between rural talukas and enhance the movement of heavy vehicles. Officials stated the projects will support the transportation of agricultural produce, industrial goods, and commercial commodities, while increasing safety and speed for local commerce.
