Gujarat ATS arrests Punjab firing suspect linked to Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang
The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested Sukhwinder Singh, also known as Sukhi, a wanted suspect in a firing case registered in Batala, Punjab. Singh, who has alleged links to the notorious Jaggu Bhagwanpuria gang, had been evading authorities for an extended period.
Acting on intelligence, a special team from the Gujarat ATS conducted a raid at a hotel in Palanpur on August 22. Singh was apprehended and taken to the ATS office in Ahmedabad for questioning. During interrogation, the suspect admitted to participating in a shooting incident near a grain mill on July 20 alongside several accomplices.
Following the incident, Singh reportedly traveled through various locations, including Delhi, Hyderabad, and Nanded in Maharashtra, to evade capture. He has a significant criminal record involving charges of attempted murder, criminal conspiracy, and violations of the Arms Act in both Punjab and Gujarat.
