Gujarat CM returns from US-Canada investment tour
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has returned to Ahmedabad following a nine-day diplomatic and investment tour of the United States and Canada. The mission aimed to attract global interest for the upcoming 11th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, scheduled for January 2027.
During the tour, which included stops in San Francisco, Washington, D.C., New York, and Toronto, the delegation held meetings with technology leaders, entrepreneurs, and investors. Discussions focused on key sectors such as semiconductors, artificial intelligence, data centers, manufacturing, and financial services related to GIFT City. Patel noted that many companies expressed enthusiasm for investing in the state.
In Canada, the delegation engaged in round table meetings with TiE Toronto and the Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce to discuss cooperation in fintech, public policy, and technology.
Separately, the Gujarat government has launched the ‘Shravan Utsav’ initiative. This program provides market access for women from Sakhi Mandals (Self-Help Groups) by allocating stalls at various religious fairs and events across several districts, including Rajkot and Gir Somnath, to promote local handicrafts and products.
