Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel meets global firms in US to drive investment
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is leading a high-level delegation on a visit to the United States and Canada to attract investment ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027. During meetings in New York and Washington, D.C., the Chief Minister engaged with several global corporations to discuss digital infrastructure, financial services, and manufacturing.
In New York, Patel met with representatives from JPMorgan, BlackRock, Kyndryl, and Golub Capital. Discussions focused on developing GIFT City as an international financial hub, with JPMorgan reaffirming its commitment to expand its presence there. Kyndryl expressed interest in collaborating on AI strategies and skilling, while BlackRock discussed expertise in asset management and infrastructure investment. Additionally, meetings with Tillman Global Holdings and Uber addressed the state's data center sector and transportation connectivity in smaller cities.
In Washington, D.C., Patel met with Walmart Executive Vice President Dan Bryant to discuss enhancing export opportunities for Gujarat's Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The discussions aimed at leveraging Walmart's training programs to improve quality and global market access for local artisans and small businesses, with a goal of establishing a roadmap for these sectors by the 2027 summit.
