Gujarat CM orders probe into illegal mining and housing violations
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has ordered immediate and strict action against alleged illegal mining on grazing land in Mehsana district. These instructions were issued to the district administration and the Commissioner of Geology and Mining during the state-wide Swagat online grievance redressal program.
Additionally, the Chief Minister directed an investigation into reports from Patan district regarding the illegal renting of houses allocated under government housing schemes. He instructed the District Collector to conduct a proper inquiry and take necessary action based on the findings.
The Swagat program, held on the fourth Thursday of every month, allows citizens to present unresolved complaints directly to the Chief Minister. During the August session, over 171 complainants attended the Chief Minister's office, contributing to a total of 5,313 complaints processed through state, district, and taluka-level programs this month.
