Gujarat Gladiators defeat Mumbai in JITO Premier League opener

The Gujarat Gladiators secured a victory against Mumbai in their opening match of the JITO Premier League 2026. The match took place in Colombo, Sri Lanka, following the team's arrival on August 23.

The squad, consisting of 25 players selected from over 300 participants across India, aims to build momentum toward the championship trophy. The team was supported during the fixture by brand ambassador Suryakumar Yadav and former Indian cricketer Munaf Patel.

Nitin Mehta, owner of the Gujarat Gladiators and associated with Chintamani Entertainment Private Limited, noted that the team was intentionally named ‘Gujarat’ to establish a regional identity rather than a corporate one.
