Security forces hospitalized in Gujarat following Unity Day parade

Eighty-seven personnel from the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) were hospitalized in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, over the last ten days. The security forces had traveled from various states, including Odisha, Jharkhand, Delhi, West Bengal, and Chhattisgarh, to participate in the Unity Day parade near the Statue of Unity.

Health Minister Prabhul Pansheria stated that the personnel were suffering from fever and other physical ailments, with preliminary reports suggesting dengue as a possible cause. While 50 personnel have been discharged and 37 remain under treatment in stable condition, one soldier passed away following sudden, severe chest pain that required emergency ICU intervention.

Authorities are currently awaiting full medical test results to confirm the specific nature of the illnesses affecting the group.
