Gujarat government removes bank loan requirement for MSME incentives
The Gujarat government has abolished the mandatory bank loan requirement for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to qualify for industrial incentives. This change allows entrepreneurs to access benefits using their own invested capital.
During an event in Gandhinagar, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced the disbursement of Rs 1,100.19 crore to 14,853 industrial units via a ‘single-click’ mechanism. The distribution included Rs 444.03 crore for MSME schemes, Rs 290.42 crore for textile schemes, and Rs 360.89 crore for large industries.
To streamline the process, the state has reduced approximately 16 documentation requirements to accelerate administrative clearances. Additionally, the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) allotted 407 industrial plots through an online lucky draw to ensure transparency in land allotment for MSME units.
