Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat meets SOS Children's Villages girls
On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, girls from the SOS Children's Villages Kutch-Bhuj center met with the Governor of Gujarat, Acharya Devvrat, at Lok Bhavan in Gandhinagar. During the event, the girls tied rakhis to the Governor and presented him with a handmade painting.
Governor Devvrat engaged with the children regarding their studies, future goals, and life ambitions. He praised the work of SOS Children's Villages, stating that “empowering children with education, values, confidence, and self-reliance is extremely important for improving the future of society.”
The SOS Children's Villages Kutch-Bhuj center was established in 2001 following a devastating earthquake that left many children without parental care. The organization currently operates approximately 32 centers across 21 states in India, providing education, vocational training, and support for family empowerment.
