Gujarat launches 136 Gram Haats to market Sakhi Mandal products

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has launched approximately 136 ‘Gram Haats’ across bus stations in 27 districts to provide a wider market for products made by Sakhi Mandals. This initiative aims to support rural women by providing platforms to sell handicrafts and food products from domestic industries at bus and railway stations.

As part of the economic empowerment drive, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Gujarat Livelihood Promotion Company (GLPC) and Amul to establish women-operated milk parlors in 18,000 villages across the state. Additionally, mentorship programs involving institutions such as NIFT, MIKA, and DSWII will be introduced to help women become successful digital entrepreneurs.

The Chief Minister emphasized the goal of making women development partners rather than just beneficiaries, noting that approximately 30 lakh rural women across 2.5 lakh Sakhi Mandals are already generating income through their skills.
