Gujarat launches cinematic portal to streamline film shooting permissions

Gujarat Tourism has launched a Single Window Cinematic Portal to streamline the process of obtaining permissions for film productions across the state. Developed by the Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited (TCGL), the portal serves as a centralized platform for securing permits for feature films, documentaries, web series, and advertisements.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi officially unveiled the initiative on September 27, 2026, coinciding with World Tourism Day. To ensure national connectivity, the state portal has been bi-directionally integrated with the Government of India’s Indian Cine Hub portal.

The initiative aims to attract both national and international filmmakers by offering easier access to Gujarat’s diverse locations, including heritage sites, natural landscapes, and coastal regions. Implementation efforts included training for line producers and officials from the Police Department and District Collector Offices. The state expects the move to boost cinematic tourism and create local employment in the hospitality and transportation sectors.
