Gujarat officials and industry leaders discuss OSH Code 2020

The Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH) of the Government of Gujarat, in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), held an interactive session regarding the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH) Code, 2020. The event was hosted by ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) at its Hazira facility in Gujarat.

The OSH Code, 2020 is designed to consolidate and streamline central labour laws into a single framework intended to enhance occupational safety standards and simplify regulatory compliance for industries. The session included participation from industry leaders, plant heads, and safety professionals from across Southern Gujarat.

P. M. Shah, Director of DISH, served as the keynote speaker, noting that the code represents a transformative step toward simplifying statutory compliance while prioritizing worker well-being. Representatives from AM/NS India and the CII Southern Gujarat Zone also participated in the discussions regarding industrial readiness and implementation.
