Gujarat Police Finds 42 Missing Children Using Cyber Tools in Statewide Safety Drive
Gujarat Police traced and reunited 42 missing children across the state between July 1 and July 28, employing CCTV analytics, cyber tools and digital surveillance as part of the statewide "Operation Surakshit Cyber Space". The operation, launched under Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi and overseen by DGP Gyanendra Singh Malik and ADGP Ajay Kumar Chaudhary, aimed to strengthen cyber awareness and protect women and children in the digital ecosystem.
During the same month‑long campaign, police She‑Teams and the Cyber Cell conducted more than 5,000 awareness programmes throughout Gujarat, educating women, children, parents, teachers and young people about threats such as sextortion, financial fraud, deepfakes and cyberstalking. The sessions included school seminars that taught children how to recognise and report online abuse and how to contact the national cybercrime helpline (1930).
