Gujarat Titans may release Shahrukh Khan and Glenn Phillips

The Gujarat Titans are reportedly considering the release of Indian batter Shahrukh Khan and New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips ahead of the IPL 2027 mini-auction. The potential squad changes follow the franchise's loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL 2026 final.

Shahrukh Khan, who was acquired for ₹7.4 crore ahead of the 2024 season, struggled significantly during the 2026 campaign, scoring only 43 runs across nine matches with an average of 10.75. Similarly, Glenn Phillips' future is uncertain after a limited impact in 2026, where he scored 67 runs in five matches and failed to take any wickets.

While final decisions on retentions and releases have not been confirmed by the franchise, reports suggest the team may look to retain South African player Connor Esterhuizen as they attempt to restructure the squad for the upcoming season.
