Gujarat weather forecast predicts rain and issues yellow alert

The India Meteorological Department has forecasted light to moderate rainfall across various parts of Gujarat through August 23. Currently, five weather systems, including cyclonic circulation and depressions, are active in the region, contributing to increased monsoon activity.

A yellow alert has been issued for several districts in South Gujarat, including Surat, Navsari, Valsad, Narmada, and Dang, where heavy winds and rain are expected. While Ahmedabad is predicted to remain cloudy with occasional light showers, Saurashtra and Kutch may experience moderate rainfall.

Authorities have issued a specific warning for fishermen, advising them not to venture into the sea for the next two days, particularly along the northern and southern coasts. Sea conditions may become hazardous with squally winds reaching speeds of 45 to 55 km/h, and gusts potentially hitting 65 km/h.
