Gujranwala police arrest teenager for allegedly killing sister over TikTok dispute
Police in Gujranwala, Pakistan, have arrested an 18-year-old girl for the alleged killing of her 15-year-old sister, Zobia Manahil. The incident occurred on August 30 following a dispute on a rooftop.
Reports indicate the argument stemmed from tensions regarding social media popularity and financial matters. The sisters reportedly created TikTok videos and food vlogs to seek financial independence. According to police and the First Information Report (FIR), the elder sister, Kainat, allegedly used a kitchen knife to strike Zobia in the back. Despite attempts at first aid by family members, Zobia died from excessive blood loss.
The victim’s father, Abdul Shakoor Khan, filed the FIR and handed his elder daughter over to the authorities. Police officials noted that the family initially resisted legal action and did not immediately report the incident, which authorities learned of through Rescue 1122. The suspect has reportedly confessed to the killing during preliminary investigations.
