Gulf Cooperation Council condemns mosque arson in West Bank village

The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) issued a strong condemnation of the burning of a mosque by Israeli settlers in the village of Koor, Tulkarim governorate in the northern West Bank. Secretary‑General Jassem Al‑Badawi said the attack "represents a flagrant violation of international law and humanitarian law" and called for rapid action by the United Nations Security Council and human‑rights organisations to hold the perpetrators accountable.

The statement linked the incident to a broader wave of settler violence and Israeli military raids that earlier in the day resulted in the arrest of dozens of Palestinians across the West Bank and East Jerusalem. The GCC reiterated its support for an independent Palestinian state within the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The council urged the international community to provide protection for Palestinian sacred sites and to ensure that those responsible for targeting places of worship face justice.
