Gulf Medical University begins 2026–2027 academic year
Gulf Medical University (GMU) officially began the 2026–2027 academic year on Monday, August 31. The start of the term saw a significant influx of new and returning students, reflecting high demand for the institution's health professions programs.
Chancellor Prof. Manda Venkatramana stated that the university's focus for the upcoming year remains on advancing academic excellence, strengthening research and innovation, and preparing healthcare professionals to meet local and global community needs. Founded in 1998 by Dr. Thumbay Moideen, President of Thumbay Group, GMU operates as an academic health system integrating education, healthcare, and research within the UAE.
