Gulf Research Center head claims UN Security Council pressure halted Yemen military advances

Dr. Abdulaziz bin Saqr, President of the Gulf Research Center, stated that the Stockholm Agreement, which halted Yemeni military advances toward Hodeidah and Sana'a, was the result of international pressure. He noted that a permanent member of the UN Security Council threatened to issue a resolution against the legitimate government and the Arab Coalition if military operations had continued at that time.

Bin Saqr observed that international stances regarding the Yemen war have shifted as the conflict's implications expanded to include the targeting of Israeli interests and military vessels. This evolution has linked the Yemeni file more closely to the security of maritime navigation and international interests in the Red Sea, reshaping how global powers engage with the crisis.
