Gumi Nakdong River Outdoor Water Park attracts 19,000 visitors

The Gumi Nakdong River Outdoor Water Park has successfully concluded its summer season, recording approximately 19,000 cumulative visitors. Operating from July 17 to August 23, the facility served as a major leisure destination for both local residents and tourists, with about 10% of visitors traveling from outside the immediate area.

The park offered various attractions, including an 80-meter water slide, a polar bear slide, a lazy river, and large air pools. To combat extreme heat, the city provided extensive cooling facilities, such as a 50-meter large tent and a 40-meter air-conditioned rest area. Additional amenities included paddle boat experiences, a mobile library, and food trucks.

Affordability was a key factor in its popularity; entrance fees were set at 6,000 KRW for those aged 13 and older, with Gumi residents receiving a 50% discount. Gumi Mayor Kim Jang-ho noted that the season ended without any major accidents due to strict safety management and the orderly conduct of visitors. The city plans to analyze feedback to improve facilities for next year.
