Gumi to host largest aviation and defense expo with global firms

Gumi City and Gyeongsangbuk-do will host the 2026 Aviation, Defense, and Logistics Expo (GADLEX) at Gumico from the 28th to the 30th. This year's event is the largest to date, featuring 94 companies and institutions operating 207 booths.

A central component is the offset trade export consultation meeting, which includes eight global industry leaders: Boeing, Airbus, Safran, GE Aerospace, Embraer, Lockheed Martin, Thales, and Bell. The event aims to connect domestic small and medium-sized enterprises with the global aerospace and defense supply chain.

In conjunction with the expo, the 2026 Gumi Defense Industry Partnership (GDIP) will take place from the 27th to the 28th. Military attachés from 15 countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, and Italy, will participate in forums and visit local production facilities such as LIG Nex1's Gumi site.

The expo also focuses on investment and employment, offering consulting for startups and job fairs with major firms like Hanwha Systems, Hyundai Rotem, and LIG Nex1. Additionally, a drone and robot combat competition will be held, showcasing AI-based future combat systems.
