Gun violence leaves six dead in St. Louis and Kansas City shootings

Multiple fatal shootings occurred in the St. Louis and Kansas City areas over the Labor Day weekend.

In St. Louis, three men died in separate incidents on Friday, September 4. One victim died after being shot in the 5900 block of Plymouth Avenue, while other fatal shootings were reported on Goodfellow Boulevard and in the Spanish Lake area of north St. Louis County. Authorities have not indicated that these cases are connected.

In Kansas City, three people were killed during overnight gunfire. One shooting at 54th and Michigan left an adult male dead at the scene and an adult female deceased after being transported to a hospital. Police have taken a subject of interest into custody following an interaction between multiple individuals before shots were fired. Another shooting was reported in the 3900 block of Willow Avenue.
