Gundam tops giant robot survey as Bandai announces new figure

A recent reader survey conducted by Anime! Anime! regarding favorite giant robots identified the Gundam from ‘Mobile Suit Gundam’ as the top choice, receiving approximately 11 percent of the vote. Other notable mentions included the Zandacross from ‘Doraemon: Nobita and the Steel Troops’ in second place, as well as various machines from the ‘Gundam’ franchise such as the Zaku, Wing Gundam Zero, and Infinite Justice Gundam Type II.

In related merchandise news, Bandai Spirits has released details for the ‘ROBOT魂 <SIDE MS> Queen Mansa ~Marking Plus~’ figure to commemorate the 40th anniversary of ‘Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ’. The large-scale figure stands approximately 260mm tall and features 14 effect parts to recreate funnel firing scenes. Pre-orders for the item, priced at 35,200 yen, are scheduled to begin on September 18 via Premium Bandai, with shipping expected in March 2027.
