GungHo announces Ninjala 2 as open-world PvE action game

GungHo Online Entertainment is developing Ninjala 2: The Uncharted Planet, a sequel that shifts from the original title’s competitive PvP focus to an open-world PvE action game. Producer Motoki Kaneda and director Naoki Izumi stated that the decision to change genres was driven by the expansion of the franchise's story and characters through multimedia, as well as user feedback requesting more cooperative play and single-player exploration.

The developers confirmed that the new title will not include gacha-style elements. Players will be able to explore nature-rich landscapes, conquer dungeons, and fight large bosses using the series' signature Ninja-Gum Action combat. Ninjala 2 is scheduled to launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2 in Spring 2027.
