Iceland's Dalvík Region Faces Planned Power Outages on Aug 5‑6

Landsnet will conduct testing on the Dalvík power line 2 on the night of Thursday, 5 August, extending into the early hours of Friday, 6 August. To enable the work, the existing Dalvík line 1 will be taken out of service, resulting in a planned electricity interruption for the Dalvík municipality and the island of Hrísey from 00:05 to 04:05 on 6 August. The outage may be briefly interrupted if power is restored during the tests.

Short, temporary disruptions are also scheduled for Ólafsfjörður, the Árskógsströnd area and Grenivík, with brief outages expected between 23:00 and 23:59 on 5 August and again between 04:05 and 05:00 on 6 August. These are not continuous blackouts but brief interruptions while connections are switched. Residents are advised to make contingency plans for any sensitive equipment.
