Gunmen attack Kano community, killing three and abducting local ruler

Gunmen launched a late-night attack on the Chiromawa community in the Garin Malam Local Government Area of Kano State, resulting in multiple casualties and an abduction. The assault occurred around midnight on Saturday.

During the raid, attackers opened fire indiscriminately, killing three young men and injuring at least two others. The gunmen also targeted the residence of the local traditional ruler, Alhaji Yusif Nadabo, known as the Sarkin Noman Jihar Kano, and abducted him.

In response to the distress report, the Kano State Police Command mobilized tactical and patrol teams. Working alongside local vigilantes and community members, security forces pursued the attackers. The pressure forced the kidnappers to abandon the traditional ruler, who was subsequently found alive and unhurt. The injured victims were transported to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital for medical treatment.
