Gunnedah Bulldogs secure historic Group 4 premiership

The Gunnedah Bulldogs secured a historic Group 4 premiership victory, ending a nearly 30-year drought for the club. The team achieved first-grade success for the first time in 28 years, defeating Moree in a dominant display at Kitchener Park in Narrabri.

Bulldogs captain Callum Hayne, playing as a hooker, led the team to the title. The victory held personal significance as Hayne's father, Sean, served as the team's coach. Sean Hayne was previously a member of the club's 1998 premiership-winning side.

The match was relocated to Narrabri due to flooding in Gunnedah. The win follows previous grand final disappointments for several players on the squad, including losses in 2018 and last year.
