Gunnislake Donkey Park site slated for 84‑home development
Greenacres Country Park Ltd has submitted a pre‑application advice enquiry to Cornwall Council asking permission to demolish the former Tamar Valley Donkey Park at St Ann’s Chapel, Gunnislake, and replace it with 84 residential dwellings on a 1.67‑hectare site. The applicant’s planning agent, Pegasus Group Ltd, says the land became available after the previous operators retired and the business closed at the end of the 2025 tourist season. The outline proposal includes single‑ and two‑storey houses, public open space and associated infrastructure, with two access points from an unnamed road. Higher‑value grassland in the south‑eastern part of the site is to be excluded to protect biodiversity. Cornwall Council will assess the acceptability of the residential development, highway access requirements and a staged work programme.
