Guns of Eschaton set for 2026 release

Eschatology Entertainment has showcased Guns of Eschaton at Gamescom, confirming a 2026 release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The title is an ambitious first-person shooter (FPS) that integrates Souls-like mechanics into a post-apocalyptic western setting.

The game features art direction influenced by the late Viktor Antonov, known for his work on Half-Life 2 and Dishonored. The world combines desert landscapes and remote towns with industrial factories and supernatural elements. Gameplay focuses on precision shooting where every bullet is critical, replacing traditional melee-heavy Souls-like combat with ranged combat, though melee options like blocking and counter-attacks remain available.

Players can customize their experience through various class builds, combining firearms, ammunition types, occult abilities, talismans, and armor. The game emphasizes learning enemy weaknesses and managing resources within a challenging environment where enemies respawn at rest points.
