Gunship releases 'Time After Time' music video featuring footage from horror film Whistle
British synthwave trio Gunship has issued an official music video for its cover of Cyndi Lauper’s 1983 hit “Time After Time.” The video, directed by horror‑film maker Corin Hardy, incorporates previously unseen scenes from his 2026 supernatural horror film “Whistle.” The film follows a group of high‑school students who discover a cursed Aztec death whistle, starring Dafne Keen, Sophie Nélisse, Sky Yang and Nick Frost, and has been available on Shudder and via digital rental. The visual tie‑in evokes the MTV‑era tradition of pairing songs with extended movie sequences, with Hardy describing the result as “heartbreaking, haunting and pure ’80s noir soaked.” The release expands Gunship’s ongoing collaboration with Hardy and adds a cinematic dimension to their retro‑futurist aesthetic.
The video appears as part of the film’s broader promotional rollout, with the DVD and Blu‑Ray scheduled for release on 28 August 2026. Gunship’s statement praised Hardy as “an old friend” and highlighted the shared love of cinema and music that inspired the partnership.
