Guntersblum municipal council approves infrastructure and maintenance updates

During a municipal council meeting in Guntersblum on August 13, 2026, several local administrative and infrastructure decisions were finalized.

Key infrastructure projects include the renewal of the floodlight system at Competition Site C, which will be upgraded to LED technology. The planning phase is estimated at approximately 13,000 euros, with the total installation expected to cost 60,000 euros. A significant portion of these costs, roughly 53,000 euros, is slated to be covered by the KIPKI funding program.

The council also addressed municipal maintenance and environmental efforts. This includes approving extra budget for daycare cleaning costs and managing tree care for 717 registered trees. To save costs, the municipal works department will handle some maintenance, while the remainder will be outsourced to the most economical service provider.

Additionally, the council accepted a 500-euro donation from the Rotary Club for supplementary planting at the 72h-Platz. In non-public sessions, discussions focused on the Kommunale Energie-Rhein-Selz (KERS) energy structure and various contractual and modernization matters.
