Indian national Gurdeep Singh shot dead in Brooklyn while delivering pizza

Gurdeep Singh, a 27 or 28-year-old Indian national from Punjab, was shot and killed in Brooklyn, New York, while working as a pizza delivery driver. The incident occurred on a Friday night near Stanley Avenue in the East New York neighborhood.

Surveillance footage reportedly shows an altercation between two individuals on the street, followed by a flash of light consistent with gunfire. One person collapsed on the ground while the other fled the scene in a vehicle. Singh was found with a gunshot wound to the chest and was later pronounced dead at a hospital.

Law enforcement officials are investigating the motive, with preliminary theories suggesting either a robbery attempt or a road rage incident. No arrests have been made, and police are reviewing CCTV footage to identify the suspect.

The Consulate General of India in New York has expressed deep sadness over the death and stated it is in contact with the victim's family to provide assistance. The North American Punjabi Association (NAPA) also expressed concern, urging investigators to determine the exact motive and noting the impact of such violence on the community.
