Gurindervir Singh competes in 100m at Asian Games

Indian sprinter Gurindervir Singh is competing in the men’s 100m at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games in Japan. Singh, a Petty Officer in the Indian Navy, recently became the first Indian sprinter to record a 100m time under 10.10 seconds, clocking 10.09 seconds at the Federation Cup in Ranchi.

Singh has expressed that the presence of Indian supporters, including groups like the Bharat Army, serves as motivation rather than pressure. He noted that increased attendance at athletics events provides an added push to perform for the country. His competition schedule includes the first round of the 100m on September 24, with potential semi-finals and finals following on September 25.
