Gurugram hit-and-run suspects sent to judicial custody

Two men, Kalyan Bainsla and Lovneesh, have been placed in 14-day judicial custody following a hit-and-run incident on Golf Course Road in Gurugram. The accused were arrested by police after a two-day search operation in Rajasthan.

The victim, a woman biker identified as Sia, has publicly rejected attempts on social media to frame the incident as a caste-based crime. She described such narratives as “illogical,” stating that the accident “could’ve happened to anyone” and should not be linked to casteism.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed to probe the case. Sia expressed her faith in the judiciary and called for strict action against the suspects, noting reports that the individuals had been consuming alcohol throughout the night of the incident. The next hearing is scheduled for October 1, 2026.
