Gurugram hit-and-run: Two arrested after viral video shows car striking female biker

Gurugram police have arrested Kalyan Bainsla and his cousin, Lovneesh, in connection with a hit-and-run incident on Golf Course Road that involved a female motorcyclist, Shivani Chauhan, also known as Sia.

Following a viral video showing a car striking Chauhan’s motorcycle and fleeing the scene, authorities upgraded the charges to include attempted murder under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigations suggest Bainsla may have chased Chauhan for approximately two kilometers before the collision. A five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Susheela, has been formed to probe the case.

Chauhan, a former Aam Aadmi Party municipal election candidate, has demanded strict action against all occupants of the vehicle. While Bainsla has denied the allegation of a deliberate collision, claiming the incident resulted from the motorcycle group's driving behavior, police are examining evidence including blood and urine samples to determine if alcohol was involved. The accused were recently produced in court as their police custody period concluded.
