Gurugram police form SIT to investigate Golf Course Road hit-and-run

The Gurugram police have formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe a high-profile hit-and-run case on Golf Course Road that involved a speeding car striking a female biker. The SIT will be led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) for Women and Crimes, alongside a station in-charge, a crime branch in-charge, and two assistant sub-inspectors.

Following the arrest of driver Kalyan Bainsla and his cousin Lavnish, a court has placed both suspects in police custody. The investigation has been escalated after police added charges of attempted murder under Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) to the FIR, following demands from the victim, Siya, and her family.

The SIT is tasked with analyzing CCTV footage, examining vehicle movements, and gathering evidence to build a robust charge sheet. The case gained significant public attention after video footage of the incident went viral.
