Gurugram to receive 90 new ration shops to expand distribution

The Haryana government has announced plans to open 90 new ration shops in the Gurugram district to improve the food distribution system. Once these new depots are operational, the total number of ration shops in the district will increase to 235.

This initiative aims to address the needs of Gurugram’s growing population and expanding residential areas. By increasing the number of distribution centers, the government intends to reduce the distance consumers must travel to collect government rations and ensure more timely and transparent service. The Food and Supplies Department has already begun the necessary formalities to initiate the process.

In addition to improving accessibility for beneficiaries, the opening of these new shops is expected to create local employment opportunities. The allocation process for the new shops will follow established government rules and eligibility standards.
