Gus Lamont disappearance marks one year without answers

One year has passed since four-year-old Gus Lamont disappeared from the Oak Valley Station near Yunta in the South Australian outback. The disappearance, which occurred around 5 p.m. on September 27, 2025, triggered what is believed to be the largest search operation in the history of South Australia.

Despite the extensive search, authorities have not provided answers regarding his whereabouts. His parents, Josh Lamont and Jess Murray, spoke publicly about the ongoing devastation, noting that the heartache grows as they face milestones without their son. They described Gus as a sweet child who loved music and the natural world.
