Gus Lilur challenges four NU figures to classical text reading test

HRM Khalilur R. Abdullah Sahlawiy, known as Gus Lilur, has issued an open challenge to four prominent Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) figures following a police report filed with Bareskrim Polri. The report stems from comments made by Gus Lilur in a podcast, where he claimed KH Abdul Hakim Mahfudz (Gus Kikin), the caretaker of Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, is unable to read classical Islamic texts (ngaji).

To provide factual proof regarding the criminal allegations of defamation, Gus Lilur has challenged Gus Kikin, KH Miftachul Achyar, Saifullah Yusuf, and Nusron Wahid to demonstrate their ability to compose and read 'kitab kuning' (classical Islamic texts) during the upcoming 35th NU Muktamar in Tambakberas.

Gus Lilur stated that if the four individuals are proven unable to master the literature, he requests they respectably enroll as students at the Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School to study until they achieve mastery.
