Gustav Isaksen regains form with Denmark, eyeing Lazio starting role
Lazio attacker Gustav Isaksen has demonstrated improved form during the international break, playing a decisive role in Denmark’s victories against Wales. Isaksen scored one goal and earned a penalty in the matches against Wales, contributing significantly to Denmark's performance.
This resurgence follows a difficult start to the season for the Danish player, who struggled with physical conditioning due to pubalgia. The injury caused him to miss summer friendlies and limited his playing time with Lazio, where he recorded only 160 minutes across five matches. In contrast, he played 218 minutes across four Nations League matches for Denmark.
Lazio coach Gennaro Gattuso had previously noted the player's need for more minutes and better physical preparation. With Isaksen regaining fitness and confidence on the international stage, he is now a strong candidate for a starting position in Lazio’s upcoming match against Monza.
