Gustavo A. Madero launches uniform program for 130,000 students

The Gustavo A. Madero borough has launched the second consecutive year of its universal “Me Late Mi Uniforme” program. The initiative aims to provide 130,000 students with complete kits, including shirts, pants, jackets, and sneakers, across 450 public schools.

Mayor Janecarlo Lozano stated that the program is designed to promote equality by ensuring students are not distinguished by their families' economic status or academic performance. The distribution covers preschool, primary, and secondary levels, as well as Special Education Centers (CAM) for students with disabilities. Over the two-year implementation period, the program is expected to benefit a total of 260,000 basic education students.

Lozano noted that the social policy aligns with the vision of President Claudia Sheinbaum to address inequality from childhood. By providing these supplies, the program intends to alleviate the financial burden on families, allowing them to redirect funds toward other essential needs such as food and transportation.
