Gustavo Cordoni climbs Everest and Lhotse in under 24 hours

Gustavo Cordoni, a 24-year-old mountaineer from Paraná, Brazil, has become the youngest South American to summit both Mount Everest and Lhotse within a 24-hour window. This achievement is part of his ‘Double Head’ project, which aims to climb all 14 peaks exceeding 8,000 meters in altitude.

The expedition, which cost approximately US$ 60,000, involved significant risks. Cordoni reported narrowly escaping an avalanche in the Khumbu Icefall; shortly after his passage, a large ice block collapsed onto the route, affecting other climbers.

In addition to his mountaineering pursuits, Cordoni is a law student at the Pontifical Catholic University of Paraná (PUCPR) and has engaged in legal entrepreneurship and internships in mergers and acquisitions.
