Gustavo Costas appointed as new Cerro Porteño manager

Argentine manager Gustavo Costas has been officially presented as the new head coach of Cerro Porteño, marking his second tenure with the Paraguayan club. Costas succeeds Ariel Holan following a period of disappointing results for the team.

During a press conference led by club president Blas Reguera, the 63-year-old coach expressed his commitment to improving the team's performance. He noted that he intends to evaluate the current squad and look toward youth players to help navigate the club's current economic difficulties. Costas emphasized that his goal is to lift the club from its current standing in the Clausura tournament, where the team sits in ninth place.

Costas is scheduled to make his debut this Sunday in a match against Libertad. He highlighted his previous success with the club, having won four titles during his first stint between 2005 and 2007, and called for a renewed sense of belonging among the current players.
