Gustavo Dudamel concludes LA Phil tenure with Hollywood Bowl farewells

Conductor Gustavo Dudamel is concluding his 17-year tenure as Music and Artistic Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic with a series of farewell performances at the Hollywood Bowl. Following his final season, Dudamel is scheduled to lead the New York Philharmonic starting in 2027.

One of the concluding events, titled ‘A Concert for Venezuela’, serves as a fundraiser to support relief efforts for those affected by recent earthquakes in Venezuela. Proceeds from the concert will be directed to the United Nations Development Programme and the El Sistema CAF Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean Fund to assist students and families. The event will feature a live stream highlighting Venezuelan musical heritage.

During the performances, the Foo Fighters joined the Los Angeles Philharmonic and musicians from the Youth Orchestra Los Angeles (YOLA) for a cross-genre collaboration. The set included band classics such as ‘Everlong’ and ‘Learn to Fly’, alongside rare performances of ‘Razor’, ‘Home’, and ‘I Should Have Known’ in a symphonic format.
